How Many Cat Fence Toppers Do You Need – and What Size?
Step 1: Choose your cat fence topper size (in centimetres)
- Sloping part (prevents climbing and jumping): 60, 80 or 100 cm
- Vertical part fixed to the wall or fence: always 40 cm
Please note:
- The 60 cm × 40 cm size is sufficient to stop most cats from escaping. The 80 cm × 40 cm and 100 cm × 40 cm options are recommended for active, athletic cats.
- All our cat fence toppers are compatible with walls, fences, palisades and railings.
Step 2: Calculate the number of toppers needed (in linear metres)
⚠️ The maximum spacing between two toppers is 2.5 m to keep the cat safety net taut. The ideal spacing is between 2 m and 2.5 m.
- Securing 10–15 m → 5 toppers
- Securing 20–30 m → 10 toppers
- Securing 30–40 m → 15 toppers
- Securing 40–50 m → 20 toppers
For 5 or more toppers, we recommend our complete cat fence kit including toppers and reinforced netting.
